In tradition of the Swiss-officer's knife.
The history of the "Swiss Army Knife". One year after Germany's "Iron Chancellor" Otto von Bismarck stepped down from office, Karl Elsener was starting to forge iron of his own in Switzerland. In 1891 he began producing knives for the soldiers of the Swiss Army and soon delivered the first batch of his knives to Bern. Based on this army knife, Elsener developed a lighter weight, more elegant knife with a second blade and a corkscrew. This new "officer's knife" was patented on 12 June 1897 and became very popular in Switzerland and abroad. VICTORINOX has been supplying the US Armed Forces with its pocket knives since 1945. Lyndon B. Johnson was the first of many US presidents to give VICTORINOX pocket knives to his guests as gifts. The German Army has been using army knives from VICTORINOX since 1976. And even NASA takes along "Swiss Army Knives" on its missions in space. The BMW "Swiss Tool" edition is a brother of these "Swiss Army Knives". It is highly functional, versatile and very easy to use.
This multitool features; universal pliers, five screwdrivers, a wire-cutter, bottle-opener, two blades and a metal file and saw. It also has a wood saw, reamer/punch, wood chisel/scraper, crate opener, wire bender, wire stripper, wire scaper, can opener, two rulers, electrical crimper, screwdriver, bit set and a pair of scissors.
