The automotive journalists at What Car just reviewed the 2017 BMW i3 with the 94Ah higher-density battery and came away impressed. The extended range now makes the BMW i3 an even more capable urban hauler than it was before – allowing it to make longer trips and better sooth new owners’ “range anxiety”.
The 170HP engine and 184-lbs-ft of torque, coupled with the BMW i3’s low weight means it is quite a sprinter off the line with a generous amount of torque immediately available, which gives the i3 the driving exhilaration that’s often sadly lacking in other alternative-fuel vehicles.
“It’s quite a lovely little car”, says What Car. “Inside you’ll find that there’s ample room and an overall sense of space [inside].” They praise the CFRP used throughout its body, the fact that the car is almost wholly produced using renewable energy and the BMW i3’s lively driving character.
