The New 2018 BMW M5 Storms Onto Scene to Continue Legacy.
The BMW M5 stormed onto the scene in late August to great fanfare and excitement. With five generations of rear-wheel-drive in its history, the all-new 2018 BMW M5 is the first M5 to boast all-wheel-drive. Not only is this new generation of BMW M5 more powerful and fast than its older siblings, it is also the most refined M5 to date.
Under the hood, the BMW M5 boasts a Twin-Turbo 4.4-liter V8 pushing 600HP and 553lbs-ft of torque, an increase of 40HP and 53lbs-ft of torque over last gen. This engine is paired with a performance-oriented eight-speed automatic transmission. BMW estimates that the 2018 M5 can do 0 to 60 from standstill in a mere 3.2 seconds. It can accelerate to 124 mph in just 11.1 seconds with a top speed capped at 189 mph when equipped with the optional M Driver’s Package.
